Space Exploration Merit Badge

Troop 95 worked on the Space Exploration Merit Badge. After a few Troop meetings spent assembling and painting the model rockets, they launched rockets at Medinah Park District under the supervision of merit badge counselor, Kevin Wills on Sunday, October 11, 2020.

Apple River Valley - Alpine Slides 2020

Scoutmaster honored by WGN as Teacher of the Month

I earned my Eagle Scout rank in 1985 with Troop 152, York-Adams Area Council, Pennsylvania. I reconnected with Scouts when my son asked to join Cub Scouts in elementary school. I became an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 95, Medinah, IL, in 2016, and Scoutmaster in 2019. As for music, Troop 95 has a tradition of having a Scout bugler for camp wake-up, summer camp flag raising and retirement, and honor ceremonies. The Troop owns two bugles, and Travis is fortunate that his son, Connell Travis, Star Scout, is able to fill the role of bugler for the Troop at the moment.

Virtual Campout 2020

Troop 95 held a Virtual Campout on June 6-7, 2020. The Scouts set up tents in their yards, played Zoom games for fun and skill, cooked dinner, and told ghost stories. After breakfast the next morning, we hiked at the Wood Dale Grove forest preserve.

Kalahari/Ed Bryant Campout 2020

Troop 95 camped at the Ed Bryant Scout Reservation, Mauston, WI, and enjoyed a day at the Kalahari Indoor Water Park, Wisconsin Dells, on February 21-23, 2020.

Klondike Derby 2020

Troop 95 competed in the Chippewa Klondike Derby, Camp Big Timber, IL, and spent many hours assembling and lashing together a Klondike sledge, practiced knots, shot BB guns, threw tomahawks, lit camp fires, etc. to compete in the Derby on January 25, 2020.

Eagle Cave Campout 2019

Troop 95 camped at Eagle Cave, Blue River, WI, and spent many hours exploring the cave system and hiking through the local hills on November 22-24, 2019.

Camp Mini Ha Ha-River Tubing Campout 2019

Troop 95 camped at Camp Mini Ha Ha, Brodhead, WI, and went river tubing for almost 4 hours on the Sugar River on August 16-18, 2019.

Mississippe Palisades-Alpine Slides Campout 2019

Troop 95 camped at the Mississippi Palisades, Savanna, IL, hiked over 5 miles, and enjoyed an afternoon at Alpine Slides, Chestnut Mountain Resort, on July 26-28, 2019.

Nuclear Science Merit Badge Campout at UW Madison 2019

Troop 95 tent camped at Scheidegger County Forest – Verona, WI. and earned the Nuclear Science merit badge at UW Madison.

Troop 95 Senior Patrol Leader Quinn Fulmer named as a member of the DuPage County Leadership Team, 2018-2019

Quinn's Eagle project consists of placing numerous bird houses in Roselle Parks. At Lake Park High School, he built a Canada goose nesting platform and convinced the school's maintenance to float it in their lake. Read more!

Troop 95 Scout, Connell Travis, was chosen at First Chair Trumpet for the All-Illinois Junior Band. The concert took place at the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL., on February 9, 2019.

Pokagon State Park campout 2019

Troop 95 cabin camped at Camp Chief Little Turtle, and enjoyed the Toboggan Run at Pokagon State Park, and long with some excellent hill sledding.
